Privileged to be the Photographer

Recently I was asked to attend and take photographs for a fundraising event to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. Gary Mervis founded Camp Good Days and Special Times about 25 years ago. It has helped thousands of children and families touched by cancer by providing a summer camp experience for the children. Recently, they've extended the program beyond young children to provide support for women fighting cancer and teenage programs also.

Individual contributions and grants from United Way of Greater Rochester provide much of the funding and the programs are offered at no cost to participants. Volunteers and community support is also very important. In fact, Arunas Chesonis, CEO of PAETEC, generously hosted the Rochester Tennis Pro-Am event and showcased PAETEC corporate headquarters in Bushnell Basin.

Fundraising activities for Camp Good Days are sprinkled throughout the year. Last month, I was privileged to be the photographer for Tennis Pro-Am event celebration and awards. Last weekend was the 2007th annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition where top-tier judges look, sniff and taste hundreds of wines for honors and medals of excellence ..... and yes they do spit it out ..... to benefit children and families dealing with cancer.

Live simply, give generously, pray daily.
