South is Here

For weeks and weeks, early November to mid-January, we've had very mild weather. Some tell us it is an outcome of global warming. But then - Bammo! We're hit with sub-zero temperatures and significant snowfalls. These past few weeks seem to have taken their toll on those of us who live in Western New York. Oswego, at the end of Lake Ontario, has been pounded with over 12 feet of snow. Unbelievable!!

It's been hard for me to get everything done as fast as I had hoped. I'd a thunk that there'd be more time to devote to darkroom work, but there just hasn't been. There wasn't much to see on the found film. Though there may have been some new history in that roll of film, the thermal fog, specks from backing paper adhering and overall age of the film won out, this time. If this were the first picture ever, I'd put more effort into it.

But with tons of new work, and a new-found interest in some really unique bird life that just showed up here.

Most birds head South for winter, and these guys do too. But for them, South is here. It's amazing they can find food and energy enough. I just love the feather-do's ..... outrageous, Mohawkesque, on some of them. Anyway, the angle of the sun is indicating an end to our winter is soon to come.
